The civil war led to a near-collapse of Cambodia's road and railroad system. Some parts of the network are still subject to attack by Khmer Rouge bandits. International aid is now being used to rehabilitate key routes, such as Highways 3 and 5, and to rebuild the Chroy Changba Bridge out of Phnom Penh. The bicycle and rickshaw are the main forms of urban transportation.
